Edwin Way Teale Lecture Series: Solutions for Biodiversity Conservation in the Anthropocene

It was a great pleasure and honor to give the Edwin Way Teale lecture at the University of Connecticut. The Edwin Way Teale Lecture Series "Nature and the Environment" honors the legacy of a prominent American naturalist, photographer, and writer who helped bridge the gap between the conservation and ecological movements of the 20th century.

My talk “Biodiversity Science & Solutions for the Anthropocene” conveyed what we know about alarming rates of biodiversity change today and how this knowledge can be mobilized to support biodiversity conservation. It was an occasion for me to present my research to a broad public that was clearly passionate about creating a better ecological environment for all species on Earth.
